Everybody tells you after someone has died that time is a great healer - not sure I beleive it. It is three years since my Dad died and it feels just like yesterday. You still have the same pain, you still remember all the things you miss, not being able to speak to him, or visit, the things he used to say and do and you think of him every day. I guess with time you probably manage to put it into some sort of perspective but it is still not easy.
I went shopping today and did not take any plastic bags from the supermarket. I have been following the campaign by the Daily Mail and I was delighted how quickly M&S signed up to give their support. We can all do a little to help the others that we share our planet with - life on Earth should be good for all the creatures and not just us. Why do we think we have the right to do what we wish irrespective of the consequences to others.
We need to all look and see what small step changes we can make in our life to stop us from living in a throaway, selfish society without a care for anyone apart from ourselves. We need to make sure that we leave a planet for those who follow us in a better condition than we inherited - each of us can help and stop using plastic bags is a start.
Once again some more moeny for my sponsored cycle to Paris and Mark Aston, Bakery Manager at Bradford has sold some of my recipe books and collected £35.00 so far - he has asked for more books - it really is appreciated. Kerry, a work friend of vanessa has bought a recipe book and a further £5.00 has been added. THIS MAKES A RUNNING TOTAL OF £152.50 - very good but still a long way from the £1100 needed by June 2008.
Thank you to everyone who has sponsored me so far and the Wiltshire Air AMbulance will make good use of every penny.
Take care and stay safe
I don't know what the craze is with plastic bags with our grocers. All the deliveries come in plastic. I would be fine if they delivered it in crates and I left the crate out next time for pickup even if I had to pay a deposit.
