Phoned Howard today and the bike is ready.  Going to pick it up tomorrow around 0915 and then cycle it home before heading of to the hospital. He has fitted 2 head bearings, new rear brake cable and brake pads.  Some minor issue with the front wheel but I am not sure what.

Was at Oldham today and as usual spent a lot of time sitting doing nothing on the M6.  Why is it that you sit in a traffic jam, wheels do not move for 45 minutes and when you get going again - nothing to be seen.  Does a phantom car descend from the clouds and park across three lanes while the Aliens  eat  space crisps, galaxy biscuits and drink pints of  black hole  nutrients?

The Aliens then press a button in the car cockpit, the invisible cloak is deployed and they slowly melt into thin air.  I think the Government should organise a focus group to study this effect - it should be real easy as this happens many times a day on the M6.  I am sure Tony and friends could even organise a conference in the Bahamas on this subject sometime in the summer.

Must stop now as I think I need an early night - up 0430 this morning, cycle and hospital tomorrow.  Can't have too much excitement in the one day.

Take care and stay safe
